our Technology
There are three main aspects to be discussed when it comes to METRIS technology:
1 Sensor Type
Two different types of sensors are typically used for force plates - staring gage and piezo-electric based sensors. Both have there specific advantages and disadvantages as listed in below table.
2 Degrees of Freedom
Sensors, and thus force plates, usually have either one degree of freedom, i.e. measuring force along their z-axis, or three degrees of freedom, thus measuring in x-, y-, and z-axes. Depending on the applications, one direction might be sufficient or the measurement in all three room axes is required.

3 Portable vs. Stationary
A portable force plate has four adjustable feet and can be carried around to place it where it is needed. A stationary plate, on the other hand, is firmly attached to the surface. Depending on the test task, fixing a plate can be advantageous, especially when several plates are combined to form a multi-plate measuring system.
